Jones and Payne Hairdressing

We all know how hard it is to find the right Hair Salon and the perfect Hairdresser for you.. I get asked almost everyday from clients where to go for a decent cut, colour etc.. Here's one to give a try.

I know Curtain Road in London's East End very well.. my gorgeous hubby used to work in a studio on this street for a good year or two..so if I ever had the day off I used to skip up that way for a lunch, dinner, drinks etc.  Happy to see there is now a Hair Salon on the street.. Jones and Payne is situated at number 73 Curtain Road and has brought with it a little bit of West End luxury and sits in the heart of Shoreditch in the East End.

Jones and Payne have quickly developed a fantastic reputation and have been nominated for several awards already within the first year open! Heading up the Jones and Payne Creative Team is Ricky Lee Jones.. I wonder who the other half of the name Payne is? Ricky learnt the trade off some super talented Hairdressers/Stylists Trevor Sorbie and Angelo Seminara (I am a huge fan of Angelo!)

Open every day! Looks fab inside.. Pop in say hello.. get your hair cut.. blow dry.. massage chair.. pamper!

Press Days..

Sometimes I prance around London checking out new ranges on offer from different brands.. or perhaps whats soon to hit the shelves.. Christmas Packs.. Spring Summer Collections.. I am lucky enough to see what is on its way.. So happy to share with you guys some pics of a recent event that was an enjoyable morning and have a peek in to a part of my life..

Model Co.. Quite happy actually this brand has hit the UK and has had a quite a good reaction. I was a fan of this range in Sydney growing up. They always had great tanning products and I just adored (cant remember the name of it now) but a ever so natural mascara that used to come in a pink tube! They have more products to hit the shelves after there famous fibre lash hit the shelves in boots around the UK..

Loccitane has an adorable store in the Markets down at Covent Garden.. This stand of parfum and Eau de Toilette just looked a treat.. All sectioned out in it's different scents they have.. My fav at the moment being.. Verbena (The Hand Wash and Shower Gel are scrumptious!

Stila.. had some time away from the limelight.. now are back with a great range of eyeshadws, a fun and colourful primer and other goodies to embrace again.

Immortelle Range.. Love that flower grown in corsica.. The colour never fades.. this range is for older more mature skin to help with signs of ageing etc..

I think we have all heard of the famous Argan Oil.. Well Morrocan Oil have also available shampoo, conditioners  and various treatment products that are just lush for your hair.

November additions to the kit.

From left to right..
Pure by Phytocare Papaya Ointment..
This was given to me by a friend.. (thank you!) so will need to find out if avail in UK.. I am pretty sure it is so maybe I should find out where.. Makeup artists are forever walking around with the famous Lucas PawPaw Ointment.. this is the same product different brand.. different packaging.. Both are Aussie made and owned with fermented papaya.. I wouldn't be suprised if even same factory pushing these out.. I use my Lucas everyday on my face and body to heal dry skin, cracked lips, improve skin texture and elasticity.. and will be happy to use this once I run out.. which is very soon..

Lash Doubling Mascara by Clinique
This mascara has been a favourite of mine for some time.. The brush has a beautiful tapered end and the mascara takes ages to dry out.. So just stocking up with black and black/brown for those lighter skin/hair colourings I work with..

Mac Neo Orange Pigment
Gorgeous bright neon colour.. matte pigment..

Clinique Brush on Cream Liner
This I have tried due to the Pixiwoo sisters.. I always love watching there videos on youtube so had to give them a go as they always use these.. I must say they are fantastic! I have used it so much just in one week. It is such an easy way to apply liner.. This one even comes with a mini brush if you need one.. Waterproof and nice colours to choose from.. I opted for classic black and smoke grey.

Mac Strobe Liquid Lotion
Great for the body.. add to your moisturiser.. add to your foundation.. There are so many ways to use this.. add to high points for luminous skin.. Has iridescent pigments which give you that glow. Not to fond of the packaging but great product.

Nails Inc.

I was lucky enough to be invited to an event last month for Nails Inc to promote there NEW Magnetic Polish.. Sorry it has taken me this long to get some words out.. We arrived all smiles to the store just on Old Bond St and were informed we could all get our very own manicure and test out the very cool and the very edgy Magnetic Polish..

It was such a delight and a nice pamper to be treated by the staff at Nails Inc Old Bond St.. I opted for 2 different colours alternating on each nail. It is so easy to use.. and so very cool that this is available in the world of manicures now! Use for toes or fingers.. What you do is apply one coat to all your nails.. Then magnetise your nails one by one.. Apply a coat of the magnetic nail polish and immediately pull of the cap that is connected to the lid and hold it over the nail for around ten seconds.. and voila! amazing! Such a nice think consistency.. There are magnetic particles in the nail polish and magnetic lid with a pattern on it to create this cool design.. I hope soon they come out with different lid patterns and more colours to choose from. At the moment there are 3 colours to choose from.. Dark silver, Musty Purple and Gold.
so fun. Still in theme with London names for the titles of the polishes.. So my fav magnetic polish is 'Houses of Parliment!'

Of course I had to go out afterwards and show everyone my lovely nails!! Everyone loved! We were so kindly given a selection of polishes to take home and below is a little fun I had testing out the water marble effect.. if anyone is interested in these I can blog how to.. A little messy right.. well give me credit! First timer!

A couple of shades I am absolutely loving right now..
'Haymarket and 3D Glitter Bloomsbury Square'

Great event Nails Inc.. Oh might I add owner and Founder and mother of three Thea Green was there and really was genuinely a lovely determined lady!! Thanks Nails Inc for a great night! x

So around about this time every month.. everyone goes mental over who got what in there Glossybox.. Check out what I was lucky enough to get this month..

1. Illamasqua 'Freak' Parfum..
Very rich in scent.. I have mentioned in my other Glossybox blogs my hunt for the perfect perfume.. so always excited to try another one when they are included in the glossybox.. I have in fact been using and happy with my fragrances I got last glossybox.. This Illamasqua scent I had heard of but never got round to the shop for a sniff.. it settles nicely though is farely strong so for me would be evening wear.. Might actually pass this on to a friend.. Even though is a small sample still comes as a spray which is convenient!

2. Nail Rock Nail Wraps
I have blogged various brands who are doing nail wraps.. so very eager to see where these lie in terms of quality.. i love the print I got.. curious as to whether different prints were sent out.. Us Glossyboxers are part of a cult now.. Must. Know. What. Others. Got.. exciting!! now I go on to the website to get more info and I realise I do know the brand because I remember they also do little gems for the eyes which are great! Fan! looks like there are some cool prints available.. Will post pic when I get them on my mitts! happy with this sample! With just this product makes Glossybox worth the price.. full manicure here. £6.65 so sits at a good price amongst the nail wraps.

3. Dead Sea Spa Magik
Gentle Cleansing Facial Wash.. I received a exfoliating scrub last glossybox month so good to see some brands popping up again. yet to try..

4. Arbonne FC5 Cooling Foot Creme
I love Glossybox most of all for them introducing me to new brands every month.. this is a brand I have never heard of so happy to try.. and I also don't give my feet enough attention since living in London.. prob because they are almost always covered.. too bloody cold! Non greasy creme to hydrate and smooth tired feet.. Sounds like a nice evening treat.. Just had a look on there website.. They have so much to offer.. supplements, skin, body, makeup the list goes on..

Last but not least...
5, Philip Kingsley Elasticizer
Looks like I could have a pamper weekend with my glossybox this month.. this product is a pre shampoo treatement.. So section hair and smooth on this treatment.. Leave on for up to 20 mins then wash hair as normal.. to reveal elasticity, bounce and shine..

Thank you Glossybox for another amazing box of treats..

PAI Skincare for sensitive Skin

Fill your Christmas stockings with Pai's Organic Skincare range.. Suitable for all skin types especially those with sensitive skin. It is a truly organic and synthetic free and you won't have trouble understanding the ingredients list which can sometimes turn me off a product to be honest. If I am investing especially in an organic range then I want to know in pure English what it contains.. Pai labels everything so clearly which I love!

There are so many things I think are fantastic about this range. For starters they offer a 30 Day money back guarantee so if you wish to give it a go for various reasons.. (Roseacea, Eczema, Acne, Ageing) and you see no change or improvement then you are welcome to take back.. This I imagine also helps PAI improve anything that may need it..to make the perfect products for us all.

Here's how I got on and some of my fav picks!

Oh one more amazing thing.. Labelled on each box is the expiry date!!! Not enough companies do this!

Camelia and Rose Gentle Hydrating Facial Cleanser (comes with exfoliating Muslin Cloth) £25.00

So you have the cleanser which removes any dirt and makeup and then the muslin cloth to exfoliate to remove dead skin cells and create a radiant complexion. Smells lovely! It contains Camelia which is a rare oil which has been used as a skin cleanser in Japan for centuries. Packed full of Omega 3 and Vitamins A,B,C and E.

- Lotus and Orange Blossom BioAffinity Toner £30.00
This one is great for dry and sensitive skin.. Helps to soothe, tone and hydrate and did exactly that. Most other toners tend to use alcohol in there products which is an irratates skin and also dries skin out but Pai uses a very unique and wonderful ingredients which is 'living waters' extracted exactly from the plants containing the exact pH balance of healthy skin. Some ingredients used to make this toner.. lotus water, aloe vera, orange blossom water, aspen bark extract, radish root extract!

- Echium Rejuvenating Eye Cream
Nourishing and revitalising Eye Cream. Handy little packaging with presses the cream out for convenience on the go. Light as a feather and easily carries in your bag over the winter period! No mess can literally use anywhere.. Various different oils are used in this product. this product makes me feel awake when I am up at early hours of the morning! Travel with this one!

Incoco

I am loving INCOCO at the moment.. I have mentioned the brand before so here is the real review! This in my opinion is the best I have tried in nail stickers/wraps/polish.. whatever you wish to call them. So this is an american company though I know you can get them in Selfridges. They are made from 100% real nail polish and take minutes to apply.. less then it would take you to apply regular nail polish and wait to dry... honest! It is a base coat, nail polish and top coat all in one. Just to be treated as regular nail polish so if you wish to remove just use regular nail polish remover. Must remember though as is made from nail polish once the sealed pack is open for you to use.. You mst use the whole pack in that application as they tend to dry up quick due to high volume of alcohol I would imagine.. You get 2 sets of 8 which will fit all nail sizes, lengths.. so either use as extras or if you have little nails like me.. You might be able to do fingers and toes in the cool designs.

No smudges, no streaks, gorgeous glossy finish and long lasting.. Mine lasted roughly 2 weeks! The strips are extrememly flexible so can be stretched a little to fit nails. What i love most is there are just so many AMAZING prints and patterns to choose from.. They seriously cater for everyone.. They also have some special designs for various holidays.. halloween, christmas etc.. If you don't live in the states or live near a selfridges.. you can buy online.. will set you back around $8.00 (US) completely worth every penny!!

Here is how I got on.. I opted for some glitz and glam silver sparkle.. Might I add easier to remove these then regular glitter nail polishes which can be quite time consuming..

Also available are great accessories, nail files, nail polish remover etc.. Considering how impressed I was with the final product of the strips.. I was keen to test out these also in the range.

Thank you Incoco for coming out with such a fab range! Some of my fav designs are.. 'Show Off', 'Sweetie Pie', 'Paparrazi', 'NY lights'

BEST BEAUTY BUY.. Give them ago.. Lots of festive parties coming for Chrissie and New Years.. You will love as much as I have I assure you! x
Check out some pics and designs on there facebook page or website.

Get Creative with Liz Martins

Liz Martins is a highly acclaimed Makeup Artist within the Fashion and Music industry.. For those in the loop.. You may have seen her work in Vogue, Elle, Tatler, ID, Harpers.. She is a Celebrity Artist and was the creator behind the 2010 looks on the X Factor contestants.. So was only natural for her to team up and collaborate with professional lash specialist Salon System for a new range of fashion inspired lashes.

Liz also known as the 'Lash Queen' has designed a truly unique collection for artists and beauty professionals.. or those wanting the photo ready finish or dramatic stage look. She spent some time in the past designing  lashes for the Girls Aloud tours and collaborating with them for there own collection.. So this collection has come from years of expertise!

There are quite a few in the range! Honestly.. I can't pick my favourite! I love them all.. I had the chance to test these out on some fashion spreads I worked on over the past couple of weeks and I'm addicted.. and everyone loved the looks they created.. It's the Cherry on top!!! They are spectacular and mould so easily with a nice flexible band too.

Prices start from around £3.. and the Liz Martin kits which are so clever sit around £9-10 I believe. There are single sets to enhance, elevate, define. then the kits have a combination of 3 different sets.. She has combined different lengths, widths of hairs to the band . This is a Makeup Artists Must have!!

Liz Martins also is on Youtube.. So don't be afraid.. She shows you how easy they are to apply.. Have fun! xx

Intelligent B.YOU VISION Styling Irons

New styling tool by B.YOU heats up in literally a couple of seconds, is lightweight (so perfect for travel with) and has a unique and incredible function that no other straightener on the market has! It includes a 'Sensitive Sensor Technology' which automatically turns the iron off after 15minutes if left unused!! How it works is.. there is a clever little ball inside of the sensors.. and it reacts to particular actions and movements. So if you are using the straightening iron then the ball within the senor creates small movements and then with its own intelligence defaults as working status so will not turn off after 15minutes.. its genius and definitely the only iron of its kind. I'm pretty sure B.You have the 'Sensitive Sensor Technology' patented so you won't find any other like it peeps!

Just what we all need at home.. I think we all have at some point in our lives left our straighteners on whilst laying on our bed, duvet, carpet.. the list goes on. It's usually the smell of burning fabric that reminds me what I have left on.. But by then it's usually too late. B.YOU is also great also for Hair Stylists and Makeup Artists when working on shoots.. As can get very crowded and very busy working on Hair then Makeup then Hair then Makeup.. more models, new room/studio etc... I think this function is superb and what makes the iron stand out from the rest, offers a safe and energy efficient hair styling session for home or work.

B.YOU has a dial of different temperatures ranging from 130-210 degrees. Which is another handy function.. As not all hair needs high temperature.. Especially if you are someone that uses a straightener everyday on your hair... This can cause damage.. So lower setting will decrease any damage to your hair.

These are on sale nationwide in various hair salons.. If anyone needs more info please get in touch and I will find out for you.
