Studio Day.. Fashion spread out Nov

Charles Worthington - Salon at Home

Back in September I posted about Charles Worthington's Salon at Home product that has launched. I tested this on a good friend as promised who I thought was the prefect candidate for this treatment. Take a look at Before and After pics.

BEFORE..
sorry for the blurry iPhone pic. You can see her hair in natural state..  Slight wave, slight frizz.. prefers her hair straight and less frizzy so felt only natural to use her to test out this amazing Charles Worthington home kit!
AFTER..
AMAZING!! First, she loved it..happy client!! Second, it did exactly what it said it would .. Much straighter and much less frizz.. This picture was taken immediately after.. I then saw her 2 weeks after and still such a great response and asked if she would do again.. YES was the answer.. She loved that the getting ready in the morning routine was cut shorter thanks to 'Charles Worthington Salon at Home Kit'.. 4 weeks on a little kink coming back but still straight and less frizz!

Would definitely recommend this product. Anyone wanting straighter hair, less frizz, less maintenance time in mornings MUST BUY.. get down to Boots.. on shelves now!! x

September Blogging... (For those that may have missed it - read below)

Charles Worthington - Salon at Home

I was thrilled to be asked to attend a launch last night of Charles Worthington's newest product range 'Salon at Home Hair Straightening Kit'.. The product gives you an amazing 40 days of straight hair..! Charles Worthington and his team of scientists have created two alternatives after years of testing and trialling.. A semi permanent treatment for coloured hair and one for non coloured. This will help to achieve the perfect results for your hair at its current state. So expect straighter, smoother and more manageable hair which will in fact reduce styling time and give you lasting results for up to 6 weeks. This will be hitting the shelves at Boots late September so keep your eyes peeled people.

This 'Straight and Smooth' product is safe and easy to use in the comfort of your home (which we love). All you need to do is apply the straightening treatment to wet hair and leave to develop for 20 minutes. Rinse out and apply the conditioning neutraliser for 5 mins. So really shouldn't take any longer then 30 mins (just like a quick home dye)! Easy steps to follow.. Some handy tips we were informed of were.. straighten your hair after treatment to seal the product and also try not to tie hair up or wash for 48 hours after for best results.

This is what you will find in the box.. It has everything you need.. Comb, gloves, step 1 (treatment), Step 2 (neutraliser), Step 3 (aftercare conditioner) and the simple instructions.. retailing £19.99

I had a friend in mind before even attending the press night.. she is the perfect candidate for this product. So she will be my guinea pig over the next 40 days or so.. I will be testing the treatment out on her and of course will take pics of results and post them here for you all..

My goody bag.. :)

Also look out for Charles Worthington's Salon at Home.. 'Strength and Repair' and Shine Booster' over the coming months..

October GLOSSYBOX

My October Glossybox has arrived! Have a peek inside mine. What did you get in yours this month?

This month Glossybox celebrates there 6th box birthday.. Still comes beautifully wrapped up like a precious gift! Love that you also get a card from the team at Glossybox saying thank-you and enjoy HAND WRITTEN might I add.. nice touch!.. We also get a mini description of what is inside your box to describe the products and more offers if you wish to purchase the item.. there's usually some discount codes to use or pass on to friends for more beauty purchases.
I loved my box this month and absolutely love there immaculate packaging.. September I mentioned that I was looking for a fragrance when I got a sample for one last month.. and this box I was lucky enough to get a collection of  3 different scents.. which helps me on my hunt to find the perfect fragrance.. They are from the 'Robert Piguet' range that sell in Harrods and smell divine. I was given 'Fracas, Visa and Calypso'. My fave is Francas! To buy a full size 50mls.. will cost £65.00 so great that you can have a sample of them to test for a week or so.
My fav piece in the box this month was the 'Stila Waterproof Eyeliner' in 'Moray' (Army Green with flecks of gold through it.. it's beautiful!). This was a full size sample and worth £13.. which is more then we pay for the Glossybox altogether!! Another item was the 'Leighton Denny Nailpolish'.. I can always count on Glossybox to introduce me to a new brand which I love and actually look forward to every month. Prob not my colour (light shade of blue).. But makes for a great little gift for a friend or could even go straight to my nail kit so not complaining.

Last but not least I got a mini Dermalogica kit..A great little branded travel bag (which I will use when I head abroad very soon.. perfect timing!! and 3 very cute travel size products.. I love anything that is less then 100mls because I travel a lot and makes life easier not having to repackage products etc.. 'Renewal Lip Complex' (Lip balm.. really nourishing, have been applying all day and smells lovely and sweet, feels similar to Paw Paw Ointment. Then I got 2 products I actually already have but in larger sizes so thrilled I can take these away with me now when I go abroad.. I love travelling with my luxuries and spoiling my face and body when I am away.. it's a nice holiday treat.

'MultiVitamin Power Recovery Masque' 70mls will cost roughly £30.. So this is filled with antioxidants, vitamins A,C,E and F and is a masque to promote healthy tissue regeneration. Apply all over face and neck then leave for 15mins.. rinse with warm water.. best used once a week.  Also in the Age Smart Range I got 'Thermafoliant' which costs around £40 for 75mls which is a thermal skin polisher to use similar to a cleanser. LOVE

Thank you Glossybox for yet another fab box filled with goodies I adore..

Michel Mercier

Michel Mercier (hairdresser of 32 years who has tended to many women including the ever gorgeous Brigette Bardot!) has created this innovative hair brush is the cure for all tangles.. It has 428 bristles of varying heights which helps to detangle and is far more pleasant when brushing through those knots reducing hair loss and any breakage. This is the perfect brush for all mums and dads.. Will take the ease and pain out of brushing your children's hair.. (After all this is where Michel came up with the idea.. his 12 year old daughter and her pain from ordinary brushes and her tangles!) It comes in 3 colours which are for 3 different hair types.. I went home with blue which is for thick hair.. works a charm and actually works as a nice head massage.. I tested this against a regular brush and some seriously backcombed hair and really does work a treat..

Soon to come are the professional range of brushes which have a wooden handle rather then plastic and will withhold 200 degrees of heat!! Fantastic.. Perfect for those professionals and regulars who blow dry there hair!

'Untangle your day'

PUKKA Ayurveda

Organic Skincare is becoming more and more available and most definitely more popular among all ages especially with the 30+ and people suffering with skin sensitivities.. 'Pukka Ayurveda' is a new range I have been introduced to (you may know Pukka for there wonderful organic herbal teas).. There are 10 products that make up the range.. Affordable! Ranging from approx £10-£38.. Stocked in Revital, Wholefoods, Nutricentre..

The formulations of the new skincare range contain highly concentrated plant extracts that are rich and penetrate deep down in to the skins tissue. The entire range is completely free from parabens (chemical used as a preservative in the cosmetic industry), petrochemicals (chemical comes from petroleum), synthetic fragrances (most common irritant in cosmetics) and colours..

Here are my fav picks..

Nourishing Brightener Organic Bilberry and Almond freshly ground exfoliator £13
Loose, dried pieces that should be mixed with water or even Pukka's cleanser or oils to massage in to skin and  exfoliate dead skin cells to nourish and soften to produce radiance to the skin.. Use about one teaspoon
( This contains 'Neem' which I absolutely love the scent of at the moment.. so very calming! Neem comes from a tree that grows 50 feet tall in many parts of India. The roots, barks, leaves and seeds all are known to have medicinal properties..)

Radiance Serum Organic Aloe Vera and Manuka Honey Revitalising Formula £32
Use to revitalise your complexion and apply before your daily moisturiser for strengthening the condition of your skin.. Great travel size of 50mls. I love this for it's ingredients.. Manuka Honey is from New Zealand and is used widely for treatment of variety of skin conditions.. Australian Sandalwood and Tumeric Root..

I look forward to trying some others from the range. Enjoy! x

Some of my offices..backstage bits and a sneak peak in to my week.

This is the lovely Liza my model for the day.. Look at the length of her hair (amazing and might I add in such great condition)!  I had the mission to turn these long strands in to a 1920s/1930s finger waves..

This is half way there.. I set the top half of her hair  in finger waves and pinned and blow dried and tucked the length of her hair under at the back so she looked as if she had short hair to begin with.. I was on hand all day to watch the look stayed in place. This then brushed out.. You will have to wait and see the final images when i am allowed to show you all.

Liza, the crew and I spent the day at the Aviation museum!! There were some really cool planes, cars and motor bikes to check out while we were there..

I have spent quite a few days working on stock images for a Charity and Getty images.  We had all ages and lots of models to make up!

Lots of commercial shots.. Little ones right up to seniors were involved in the  photo's

Corporate stock images

We had the whole building on a Saturday.. these office's were made from  glass top to bottom!

First time I got to see inside the new hotel at Kings Cross.. There was a  coffee table book also that had gorgeous photo's of the old building and the new transformations.. We loved this office for the day!

St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.. BEAUTIFUL

Bumble and Bumble

Bumble and Bumble have over 33 years in the biz! Starting out as a salon in NYC known for it's links to the fashion and editorial world and still to this day with a high class reputation. The company has a full hair care range of shampoo's, conditioner's, styling and treatment products. I would like to introduce you to a new range I have been trialing over the past couple of weeks.. BB Shine!! which consists of 3 wonderful products.

Now we all know what a fan I am of Bumble.. and am always raving and chatting about the styling products to my clients.. hairsprays LOVE, gels LOVE.. so was fantastic to give the hair care a test too..

Here's how I went..

BB Let It Shine BB Shampoo and Conditioner:
Not only did my hair which is naturally curly and dry look shiny it also felt soft and conditioned afterwards!  I tend to get through Conditioner quite quickly as I have lots of hair and thick hair too.. so absolutely loved that a little goes a long way (this is one thing I look for in a conditioner)! I also have the tendency to use quite a bit of hair styling products through the week to retain that perfect curl and keep frizz behaving and to look my best.. Let it Shine Shampoo helped remove any product residue that built up through the week. My hair has been sparkling, tangle free and hydrated!
Price: ranges between £17.50-£18.50

BB Shine On and On and On... Finishing Spray
This is an easy to use high shine glossing mist for your hair that will not add weight or grease! It is a lightweight silicone formula that tames frizz, flyaways and adds more moisture. Use this on dry hair (I prefered to spray on to hands and then on to hair.. or section pieces and focus on certain areas or strands..Great layering product too.
Price: £20.00 for 125mls

Now anyone with curls keep reading!! Bumble have launched an expanded Curl Conscious Hair Styling range!! Yes those with curls will be able to relate.. I love testing out new products especially for my curls!! I find with my particular hair/curls what works best is to change up the product every couple of weeks.. alternate for new scents, new textures also depends what cut, colour your hair is in etc..I already have so many Bumble and Bumble products in my hair kit for shoots, private clients so these little gems i'm keeping all to myself. They look fab in my bathroom and work wonders with curls!

My two fav picks out of the bunch..

BB Curl Conscious Holding Foam
This is Gel to Foam formula which smells delicious also without the stickiness and stiff feeling some mousses give. The range is designed to work well when mixing products from the curl conscious range together which is fab.. (Try Curl Conscious Shampoo and Conditioner for the whole Bumble Treatment)

BB Curl Conscious Calming Creme
This one is great for coarse curls. Helps to smooth, soften and loosen tight curls that also tend to frizz. No crunchiness just soft luscious relaxed curls.
Prices starting at £16.50

Will keep you posted on Bumble and Bumble.. and my favourite picks from the brand.. Enjoy!
