Ben Nye's products were introduced to me at the very begininning of my career when I was training in sydney! I have used them throughout on many jobs and carry them always in my kit! As do many other professionals. I trained in a very theatrical college hence the constant use of this brand. They stock products to get you through any job whether it be in Theatre, TV, Fashion, SFX etc.. I believe the brand is still run by the Nye family and has been passed on generations and constantly bringing new products to the range, enhancing formulations etc.

Ben Nye recently just started there factory tour.. This is on my must do when in the states!! Check out video below of Dana Nye and there fabulous tours...

Now I would be writing forever if I would go through all the products I have and love.. So here are just a couple that stand out.

Ben Nye Lumiere Pallette - Can purchase individually or in 8 colours or 12.. Great price for the most beautiful pay off for an eyeshadow .. Shimmery eyeshadows, bright colours!

Ben Nye Wheels - ALL OF THEM!! (Rainbow, Death, Fireworks, Concealer, Rouge, Bruise etc). They come in the most compact, handy and sturdy little wheels offering you usually 4- 6 different shades which ultimately can be mixed in to many many more shades.. Great product and colours! LOVE.

They have some new products out at the moment.. new lipstick colours, eyeshadows, new foundations (great sheer textures, and palettes), products for HD... Great makeup for everyone not just professionals!

Recent Test..

SMASHBOX

Smashbox produce wonderful products and I have spoken of  there primers in previous posts. I already in my kit carry a few skincare products and makeup from the brand and a fan of the range. Sorting and cleaning my kit/ flat recently.. led me to find some unopened eye and lip liners that I absolutely adore right now.. hopefully they are still stocking these little gems. (I don't think the products are available in London though can be purchased online of course http://www.smashbox.com/).

Smashbox Doubletake Lip Color (Gossamer,Sugar Spice and Praline!!)

Gorgeous double ended lip pencil and creamy lip color. Idea is to apply the lip liner first to line and create shape then apply the color for the gorgeous gloss and shine on top. Both ends are super creamy so could even use one or the other depending on what look you are after.. perfect for that day to night transformation. Both ends are smooth to apply.. Such a joy to wear and use. 

Another two liners I love in the range are also the Limitless Eye Liners.. for there super soft and smokey effects.Waterproof so have that staying power. Also handy little sharpener attached to cap of pencil. My favourite colors are JAVA and SMOKE. This product is a best seller for a reason. Must have item!!!

MORROCCAN OIL

Christmas In July.. is a chance for many companies to show us what will be sold over the festive period in the months coming. I was lucky enough to attend some colourful parties in July, play with some products and trial some treatments. These will hit the shelves soon just in time for the Christmas shopping frenzy... Some great things coming folks!! ahhh christmas already, lets have summer first please!!

The luxury brand Moroccan Oil stood out for me.. Great one for the Chrissie Stocking and perfect for any time of year! These products have a strong following in celebrity world.. and are salon exclusive. Look for the bright turquoise blue labels and get your hands on them quick. There signature ingredient 'Argan oil' is in every product and is grown only in Southwest Morocco. This very ingredient helps to restore hair, has UV protection, increase hairs elasticity and is rich in vitamins.

Moroccan Oil Treatment - Original 
Use on dry or wet hair and great for use on natural hair, wigs and extensions. Also for those curly haired guys and gals out there.. a few drops of this mixed in with the 'Intense Curl Cream' makes for a great duo.

Moroccan Repair Shampoo/Conditioner
Helps to repair chemically treated or coloured hair. Magic in a bottle containing proteins to nurture the hair to create shine, body and to improve the general health of your hair.

Moroccan Oil is harvested under a fair trade programme.. though I thought you might like to see a beautiful picture I found online from traditional Moroccan ladies preparing the oil from the nuts in traditional method.

Ecological and Organic Cosmetics since 1983..

I had the pleasure of attending a press event for this french brand a few weeks back to hear about some wonderful products by Melvita. The PR team were fantastic, thank-you Simon, Emma and co! The smells in particular from some of the products reminded me of home.. with gorgeous scents of citrus and lemon trees, fresh tea leaves and various sweets.

Bernard Chevilliat is the founder, a biologist and beekeeper who set up this company over 25 years ago. His passion for the brand was driven by love of nature and beauty. Melvita today holds one of the largest ranges of certified organic products in the world. Melvita uses over 600 natural ingredients (plant oils, plant extracts, floral waters and has products for children, men and women. So something out there for each of you. Eye Make-up remover 

Water Based, Gentle enough for contact lenses, non greasy, removes waterproof mascara. Cornflower water, chamomile and lotus.. ahhhhh to remove with a refreshing scent and helps to reduce any puffiness around eyes. Great one for the kit.

Satin effect Dry Oil

I LOVE THIS!!

Long lasting moisture, feels amazing, repairs and protects, floral notes of mimosa, ylang ylang, peach and apricot. Such a treat to use.

Rose Extraordinary Water

Invigorating and great for skin prep. Great gel like texture (unlike usual Rose Water textures), helps to firm the skin, great for more dryer and mature skin for rehydration.

A friend of mine from Sydney was in need of a recommendation for Eye Cream/Gel.. So have sent her Melvita Eye Contour Gel to try out in hope to help with Dark Circles mainly.. I will let you all know how she gets on in a month or so if she has improvements etc.. Enjoy. x

Next two are new brands to my kit.. Was introduced to these a couple weeks ago through a friend.. Both mineral Makeup too.. A friend raved of the products after attending press events for both.. so was lucky enough to get my hands on a couple products to try..

Bellapierre Cosmetics Penny

Image attached doesn't do the colour justice.. lovey bronze. very soft to touch.. Great combined with product below for more intensity. Plenty in the range from Skincare to Makeup .. I will have to go and play and let you all know of the rest of the products. Also great deal for any Makeup Artists out there.. They offer 20% of all products just need to apply online.. Emma Hardie

I was lucky enough to be invited to Emma Hardie's press night a couple weeks ago held at the beautiful Royal Institute of Great Britain.. I had a wonderful evening learning more about the product range. Emma Hardie herself presented and demonstrated her line and facial massage.. with such passion and knowledge!

London born Emma started up this range after she fell ill for several years and found she could not find anyone to help her.. she fought and healed herself and rejuvenated her body and face and then went on to research and develop her brand 'Emma Hardie'.. It is a fantastic story.. Her mission now is to help others and teach others ways to heal themselves with her products. Simple and Easy skincare range. Sold now at Space NK..

I found these products unique in the way they were not only products in a jar.. you must apply them correctly for them to benefit.. Amazing Face products were produced to work in synergy with your hands to bring life and energy to your skin.. wonderful results for more youthful and firm skin.

Moringa balm (gorgeous cleansing balm which hydrates and soothes, also removes makeup)

Dual Action Buff and Polish Cleansing Cloth (gentle cloth one side muslin, the other side a smoother micro fibre. This is what creates a joyful mini facial combined with the products..)

Aromatherapy Infused Rosehip Exfoliating Seeds (combine with Balm to alter exfoliating levels.. they all smell beautifullllllll!!!
